Nuts about Sketches.....

I neglected to post my last two layouts at Nuts About Sketches - oopsy!! I am having so much fun doing these. I only discovered probably about 6 months ago that I love using sketches, who knew?? Sometimes I will interpret them exactly and other times I will get a little more creative. I don't like to stray too far from a sketch because then you aren't really using a sketch are you? ;)

Here is the first one

And the second... I need to get a better picture of this one, I am just too lazy at the moment :)

The next sketch goes up tomorrow, so go on over and check it out!!

All about texture.....

I made this card for the monthly card challenge at Catherine and Cathy Create. The challenge was to add texture to your card. I first did this by using an embossing folder for the background. I loooove using them for texture- so easy and it looks SO awesome! I used a folder by Tim Holtz- I adore anything by Tim Holtz <3 I rubbed distress ink in Vintage Photo (more Tim Holtz) over the embossed area, then I felt it was too dark so I rubbed Kaisercraft Sandstone ink over it again to lighten up some of the ink. The leaves are a stamp by Stampin'Up- Magnificent Maple- such a beautiful stamp. If I had my time back I would have used a different color ink other than black to stamp with so as to lighten up the leaves a little. Anyways, it looks ok I think. The sentiment stamp is by Hampton Art, the leaves and flower are Prima, the burlap and jewels are from my stash.

Chevrons!!.....

I love 'em!!!! I really do! They are so cool and funky. So when I saw the challenge at Catherine and Cathy Create  I definitely had to do a project for it. I am into doing Christmas cards lately, and just so happened I had some cool chevron Christmas paper!! I am not sure offhand who makes it- Echo Park maybe??- I am far too lazy to get up to check right now :) Anyway, it's a pretty simple card, but I like it :)

First layout as part of the sketch team.....

I am excited to post this as it's my first time being on a design team!!!! There is  anew sketch every week and we are required to do at least 2 a month. I had to do the first one of course!! So, here it is, and please go over to Nuts About Sketches and have a look and maybe leave a comment!!

I used the supper fabulous My Mind's Eye collection Sky's the Limit! I seriously adore this collection and company. The pic is off my beautiful daughter and sweet dog as we went for a walk on the trail down by the river one evening.

Here is the sketch we were given

And my interpretation...
